Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Supervisor (Weekend), you will be primarily responsible for leading the production team safely in manufacturing high quality products on time and at the lowest cost.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule department personnel to assigned tasks and jobs.
- Verify that all safety polices, and procedures are followed
- Manage, motivate, develop and involve Silicone fabricators through coaching and performance management
- Responsible for managing employees’ Time and Attendance through ADP
- Keep product flowing through the value stream and address bottlenecks.
- Maintain up to date training records and the training matrix for all team members in the department.
- Attend daily production meeting when needed to report on safety, quality and production concerns.
- Effectively communicate within the department as well with opposite shifts to ensure efficiency and maximize productivity in operations across all shifts.
- Ensure that employees are meeting the quality of the product per specifications.
- Understand and follow the SOP’s pertaining to the floor.
- Understand and follow all Work Instructions pertaining to the floor
- Observe and promote company standards and policies on safety, quality, and productivity
- Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical device and clean room environment
- Lead and support 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Lead and support tasks involving engineering tests and studies on the floor
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing the Implant Fabricators, Captains, and Manufacturing Leads on weekend shift. Shift runs Friday through Sunday, 12 hour daily shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements (Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or similar field.
- Minimum of 5+years of experience in medical device manufacturing, or similar regulated environment
- Experience with auditors in a regulated environment
- Good knowledge of cGMP.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Demonstrate strong organizational and personnel leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and interact well with others.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Team player with good communication skills and customer focus
- Accuracy and attention to detail
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports as well as business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Computer Skills
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office – ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Ability to learn various software programs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This physical demand level for this job is considered medium with frequently lifting between 10-25 pounds and occasionally lifting 50 pounds.
The employee may frequently be subject to sustained bending, using hands to finger or handle or touch, use foot/feet to operate machine with constant exposure to dynamic standing/sitting. The employee will occasionally be exposed to static standing/sitting, pushing/pulling(less than 50lb of force), floor to knuckle lift/lower (less than 50lbs), knuckle to shoulder lift/lower(less than 50lbs), shoulder to overhead lift/lower(less than 50lbs),climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders and repetitive bending or squatting.
The following vision requirements apply: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee will constantly be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts with frequent exposure to risk of electrical shock. The employee will occasionally be exposed to wet humid conditions, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold or heat, outdoor weather conditions or travel on company business. The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is considered loud if near operating production equipment.
The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard net, gloves when handling hot objects or solvents, jumpsuit, earplugs (when needed) on production floor.
The employee will occasionally use hand/power tools and machine equipment, with frequent use of maintenance shop tools.
