Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Medical Affairs Specialist is a strategic partner with the business and scientific stakeholders including Clinical, Marketing, Regulatory, R&D, Sales, Legal, and other groups to provide context on plastic surgery and developing evidence needs for Sientra’s products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver content for physician educational events
- Upon request, conduct surgeon customer meetings
- Conducts on-going training to corporate personnel and field sales as directed.
- Deliver product presentations outlining products, features, benefits and services
- Act as a resource and technical subject matter expert on medical affairs challenges with cross-functional teams
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends
- Maintain confidentiality of all information and data • Be familiar with current literature regarding plastic surgery, including Sientra’s product lines and market competitors.
- Understand data gaps in the literature and develop scientific strategies to close gaps that are considered keys to the success of the business.
- Facilitate understanding and enable performance comparisons for available technologies.
- Foster relationships with key opinion leaders through voice of customer initiatives and collaborative research partnerships.
- Communicate evidence value proposition with succinct, data-driven messaging; support corporate decision making across various functions and levels of the organization.

Requirements (Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, etc.)
- 4 year college degree
- Understanding of plastic and reconstructive surgery, implants and related products
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to simplify complicated scientific information
- Competitive and results-oriented drive
Required Travel
Extensive travel based on needs of territory. Overnight travel will be required including some weekends.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports or business correspondence.
Computer Skills
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Ability to learn various software programs.
